How to clean your CASTICO shower
For routine cleaning, use a non-abrasive foaming tile cleaner with a microfiber cloth. For tougher spots on the base, a nylon brush is fine to use.

Any non-abrasive foaming tile cleaner will work — ZEP is simply the one we have tested and can recommend directly.
Avoid any cleaner containing hard minerals or grit. Those products clean by scraping and will dull and scratch the surface over time.
Do not use bleach or any bleach-based product on the wall panels. Bleach causes permanent discoloration that cannot be repaired.
What “non-abrasive” means
Non-abrasive means avoiding cleaners that contain hard minerals or grit. These clean by scraping rather than dissolving, which scratches the surface over time.
This is worth checking by product name rather than by description. A cleaner can be strong or acidic and still be perfectly safe on our products, while a cleaner that seems gentle may contain fine mineral abrasives. If you are unsure about a specific product, the ingredient list on the label is the best way to confirm.
A foaming tile cleaner is the safe category for everyday use.
Why bleach should never be used
Bleach — including Clorox and other bleach-based bathroom cleaners — causes CASTICO wall panels to develop a purple tint.
This discoloration is permanent. It cannot be cleaned off, buffed out, repaired, repainted, or refinished, and it is not covered under warranty.
Many bathroom cleaners contain bleach without stating it prominently on the front of the bottle. If a product lists sodium hypochlorite in its ingredients, it contains bleach and should not be used on the panels.
If purple discoloration has already appeared, there is no treatment that will reverse it. A repair or touch-up kit will not correct it, because the change is in the panel surface itself rather than in a coating on top of it.
Is a specific cleaner safe to use?
ZEP Shower Tub and Tile Cleaner — approved. Some customers ask about this product because the label lists an acidic formula. We have tested it, including with prolonged use, and it has not shown any issues. Acidity is not the concern with our surface; scratching is.
Bar Keepers Friend — base only, never wall panels, and only as an occasional treatment for residue that alcohol will not lift. It contains hard minerals and cleans by scraping, so it is not suitable for regular cleaning.
Any bleach-based cleaner — not approved.
Vinegar and steam cleaners — these have not been tested on our products and we do not currently have a recommendation either way. We have seen one case where a steam cleaner used with diluted vinegar left light gray discoloration on a base. Everyday care
Rinsing the base after use and wiping the surface periodically will keep soap residue and mineral deposits from building up.
