TRIMMING TOOLS
Customers may need to trim pan bases or walls to accommodate their shower space. We recommend using a wet or dry tile saw. However, circular saws may be used.
Below are some recommended tools and tips for trimming:
- Tile Saw: Diamond Blade
- Circular Saw: Tile Blade (diamond preferable) or Fine-tooth blade
TIPS:
- Use painter's tape over the edges that will be trimmed to help reduce chipping
- Trim product with finished side facing upwards
- Trim inward/non-exposed edges
- Use tile trim to conceal exposed trimmed edges
- Bases - do not trim over 1.5" on each side to avoid cutting into slope (can impact draining performance)

Suggested Trim
Match the trim to the total build up of the wall, thinset plus panel.
Construction adhesive + 1/2 inch CASTICO wall = 1/2 inch trim
1/4 inch of thinset + 1/2 inch CASTICO wall = 3/4 inch trim
1/2 inch of thinset + 1/2 inch CASTICO wall = 1 inch trim
If the thinset is kept off the base leg of the trim so the panel sits directly on it, the panel face is only 1/2 inch above the trim leg, so 1/2 inch trim works regardless of thinset depth.

DRILLING TOOLS
Customers may need to drill into walls or bases to install shower doors or accessories.
When drilling, we recommend customers predrill using the following recommendations and tips:
- Diamond tip or masonry drill-bit
- No closer than 1/4" from edges to avoid splitting, cracking, or chipping
- If installing a load-bearing accessory, ensure the accessory is anchored to a stud or subfloor (our walls and bases are not load-bearing)
CUTTING TOOLS
Customers may need to cut out specific sections or areas of wall panels to adjust for shower hardware, height, windows, or accessories such as niches.
We recommend the following:
- hole-saw
- hand-saw
